Shot from my Short

Hey guys. I finally finished a shot from my short to use for my demo reel. Please feel free to critique it as I'm sending it to the big studios in a couple of weeks. Thanks a bunch!

Hey Jocelyn!
Good news! I have applied to AM. I've taken the test too... passed it already. Now I'm just waiting for the review committee to look over my application:D
Your short is coming along nicely. The story premise is really cute.
I was wondering... how did you get the movement on the bed? and your character seems to reside above the top of the bed... will it look differently once it's fully rendered?

Keep having fun animating...
and keep your fingers crossed for me too !P

Hey Net,

Congrats! Its only a matter of time until you receive the best animation education ever! =D Thanks for looking at my shot, I'm glad you like it. I got the bed to deform with Maya's soft modification tool. I spent three days trying to figure out how to use that thing. XD I'm not really happy with the deformation under his butt. Like you said, it looks like he's above the bed rather than on it. :\

I have no idea when this will be rendered. I know how I want it to look but have no idea how to make it happen. I think I'll make a few quick color sketches to set the mood and lighting for each setting. You know, like those pastel drawings that the art department does when trying to get a feel for the look of the film? I'd like to try to do some of those for my short. I doubt it'll be anytime soon though since I need to focus on finishing all of the animation first.

If you've applied for the fall term at AM I might be able to see your work. I'm going to be a peer buddy, ^-^

Hey Kris! Thanks, I'm glad you like it! =D
