More Life Drawings

I did some more drawings when I got home. I tried to focus on creating a solid feeling of space for the forms to occupy. I'm not there yet but it's progress.

Sony Life Drawing

Two and five minute poses. I REALLY need to draw more! There needs to be more hours in the day. I want to draw, learn to paint, study acting, and continue to study animation!

My First Day

My first day at Sony was great! Everyone I met was super nice and excited to be there. I really like the atmosphere of the studio as well. The open floor plan and exposed brick make it feel like a classy downtown joint, which it is lol. We even got a free t shirt as a welcome present! The fact that I have friends here from previous studios makes Sony even better! I sit across from one of my R&H buddies and cant wait for the fun to begin. I'm also super excited about animating again and want to dive right in! =D

Catching Up

Wow, I can't believe my last post was in June!!!! So much has happened since then. Ralph has wrapped and the party was amazing. I've been enjoying funemployment since August, finally bought myself a cintiq, and just finished my first painting with it a moment ago. Woo! I wanted to spend my unemployment time teaching myself how to paint, but it seems my lessons have waited until the end of my break to actually start occurring. Up until now I've been more focused on experiencing life for the first time since I started working and it's great! I feel like I actually appreciate and fully experience the days as they go by, rather than time being numbers on a clock that I'm racing against to get my shots done.

My break will be over soon though, since towards the end of next month I'll be starting at Sony Imageworks in Vancouver on the Smurfs 2! As nice as it was to take it easy, I'm really looking forward to resume working. I can only be idle for so long before getting anxious about my lack of work. I want to get as much experience as I can in the hopes of being able to qualify for a work visa for Weta, so I can work on The Hobbit!

Ice Age Commercial

The McDonalds commercial I worked on at Blue Sky has been released! I did the shot of Sid bouncing the happy meal over to the kids while saying "here ya go!". =D

I'm Gonna Wreck It!

Hey guys,
The trailer for Wreck It Ralph has been released! Here's a look at what I'm working on. =D


I was also lucky enough to be assigned some trailer shots when I first started on the show. I animated the shot of:
 1. Ralph and the bad guys riding the train as Felix finishes saying "Ralph abandoned his game".
2. Ralph and the bad guys getting off of the train once it reaches the station.
3. The little girl getting ready to play Hero's Duty
4. The same girl listening to Calhoun saying "Alright ladies, listen up!". Just the girl though, one of the supes animated Calhoun.

Farewell to a Legend

I just said goodbye to my hero and thanked him for all that he's done. Glen remembered me and the times where he helped me with my life drawings and the hair in one of my Tangled shots. He told me to continue growing and that I remind him of himself. T-T Truer words couldn't have been said at the end of Glen's goodbye/tribute video. He will be in the hearts of everyone at Disney, always.

Updated Reel

Alvin 3 has been released on dvd, which means I can post an updated version of my reel! =D

Hey guys,
I have two fun announcements to report. The first is a new trailer for Ice Age 4 has been released!

The second, is this is my first week back at Disney! I'm working on Wreck-It Ralph and am having a blast! It's fantastic to be back! =D
